BRIEF HISTORY

Church on Mission is one of a family of a Classical Pentecostal denomination called the Apostolic Faith Mission International Ministries. This denomination traces its roots from the Azusa Street Revival. It was founded by Dr John G. Lake and other American missionaries in South Africa in May 1908. It started to spread from South Africa into neighbouring countries. At present it has spread into other continents and is found in almost 30 countries. The UK branch was formed just over 20 years ago, and it is to this branch that this Church is affiliated. This Assembly was formed on 01 September 2021 in Leeds. The focus and thrust of the Church’s activities is to carry out the Great Commission as led and guided by the Holy Spirit. The Assembly shall serve as an Apostolic Centre like the Church of Antioch of the New Testament.
